Robert A. Brown

Robert A. Brown, age 80, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1944 to the late Henry and Ann Brown. 

Robert worked as a toolmaker for many years before his retirement. 

Robert was lucky to find love and married Janet in October 29, 1966. Robert and Janet lived in the Akron, Ohio area for most of their lives together but spent ten years in Houston, Texas between 1976-1986.

He enjoyed golfing and tinkering around the home. Robert also loved to garden, work on cars and spend time with his golf buddy, Bill Hohman. He was a family man at heart and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always telling stories and laughing. He truly cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He is loved and will be remembered forever. 

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet; children, Barbara (Mike) Curley and Bruce (Kathy) Brown; grandchildren, Eric Curley, Erin (Jesse) Paris, and Honor Brown; sister, Shirley (Steve) Mervosh; brother, Don (Jean) Brown; cousin, Dorothy Kamen; as well as many nieces, other extended family members and lifelong friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. 

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305) on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 10am until 12pm. He will then be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park (3653 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333).
