Robert "Bob" A. Starcher
Robert A. Starcher, 68, of Lakemore, passed away January 3, 2010. Bob was born in Akron on November 16, 1941 to the late Isaac and Bessie Starcher. He proudly served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. Robert retired from Chrysler, was a member of UAW Local 122, and was the owner of Starcher Painting Co. He was a past member of the Knights of Pythias and the Senior Vice Commander of the Army Navy Garrison 273. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Isaac Jr., Roy, Arnold, and Harold; sisters, Garnet Porter and Mildred Jean Richards; stepson, James D. Gartner; and granddaughter, Melissa Brown. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Eva; daughter, Chanin (Wes) George; stepdaughters, Sheila (John) Foreman and Michele (Ricky) White; brothers, Tommy (Kathy), Ronald, and Jimmy Wayne (Christy); sister, Margaret Badgett; grandchildren, James (Jen) Gartner Jr., Misty (Matt) Sivert, Renee (Billy) Hoffman, Shaina Silket, Joshua White, Justin White, J.T. Foreman, Alyssa Foreman, Alexandra George, and Lauren George; and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
