On April 14, 2012, the Lord called Robert home.
He was born on August 13, 1929 in Lynn, WV. Robert served in the U.S. Army, and retired from Bellow Signs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chesley and Oma Yates; brothers, Homer and Larry; sister, Mary; and great-granddaughter, Violet.
Robert is survived by wife, Lois of 55 years; daughter, Virginia (Chuck) Davis; grandchildren, Brandie (Shaddera) McGowan, Jennifer (John), and Charles Jr. (Amanda); 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Coburn; sister-in-law, Dorothy; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice and special nurse, Becky, Dr. Jose Dy, and the nurses on 6 West at Akron City Hospital for all of their care and support.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 17, from 6 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Wednesday, April 18, at 12 noon. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, 3962 S. Delaware Street, Englewood, Colorado, 80110.
