Robert Barwick, 81 passed away on April 21, 2018 surrounded by family. He served in the British Army for 18 years before moving to the US in 1969. He met the love of his life, Wiltrud, in Germany and they were married for 56 years. Robert was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his children. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, golfing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Idris and Ruby Barwick; son, Idris; and sister, Anne. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Wiltrud; daughters, Susan and Sandra; son, Martin (Carol); 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; step-mother, Barbara; sisters, Isobel and Elizabeth; brother, Bill; and many other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday April 24, 2018 from 5-7pm and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
