ROBERT D. BRANCH

Robert D. Branch, 73, of Akron, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2001. Robert was born on October 16, 1928 in Manhattan, Kansas to the late Abner and Vivian Branch. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Teamsters Local 24 for 10 years, and retired from Local 17 Ironworkers in 1986 after 28 years of service. All of Robert's friends at work knew him as "Popsi". He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Allen Branch and Ronald Benson Branch; and sisters, Norma Jean Stone and Marie Muller. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Branch; sons, Douglas Dean Branch, David Lee Branch, and James J. Branch; daughter, Roberta Ann Andrick; grandchildren, Bridget, Missy, Doug II, Deanna, Lonnie, Lyn, Tiffany, and Jason; great-granddaughter, Lacey; sister, Beverly Caroline Reed. Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 8th from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a military service at 7 p.m. provided by VFW #8975. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Donald T. Davies officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park with military honors provided by Appleman VFW #3294 and American Legion #281.
