Robert Lee Cannon, "Bob", age 82, of Munroe Falls, Ohio, died on December 4, 2021 in Akron.
He was born on July 30, 1939, in Akron, the son of the late Francis Patrick and Levia Anna (nee Sharpe) Cannon. Bob had lived in California and Florida but returned to his home state to be closer to his family. He spent three years in the military and was an honorably discharged US Army veteran.
He met his wife, the former Mia Burkl, whom he married on June 26, 1960, while he was stationed in Germany.
Bob was not raised with any particular religion, however he found Jesus Christ later in life and enjoyed going to Hope Church with his family members.
He was adored by his 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who visited every weekend. Bob had an endless sense of humor, which his grandchildren loved.
In his younger years, he worked as an electrician, and once he was semi-retired he worked for the Parks Department in Florida. Bob is from a large Irish family being the last of his surviving 12 siblings.
Bob's adult children have fond memories of going fishing at Springfield Lake when they were young learning to fish.
In addition to his loving wife of 61 years and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bob is survived by his children, Levia (Brian) Goff, Teresa Cannon, Robert Lee Cannon II and Selinda (Rick) Schoonover.
There will not be any calling hours or services and Mr. Cannon will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to your favorite charity.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
