Robert L. Canterbury, Sr.
Robert L. Canterbury, Sr., 84, of Uniontown, passed away October 19, 2004. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Lawson's Milk Co. after over 25 years of service. Robert was a former member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where he served as an usher. In his free time, he loved to go squaredancing. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, John William "Bud" and Ruth (Green) Canterbury; son, Robert L. Canterbury, Jr.; and sister, Josie Mullins. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Stemple and Deborah (Rick) Copfer; sisters, Beulah Adkins, Virginia Lawrence, and Mae Collins; brothers, John, Franklin, and Francis "Bud" Canterbury; grandchildren, Lisa Stemple, Kurtis (Jaime) Stemple, John (Maya) MacDonald, and Jodi (Brian) Rotolo. Friends and family may call on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Charles Marshall officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
