Robert D. Zook, Sr. (ZOOK)
Robert D. Zook, Sr., 68, passed away October 23, 2009 after a long struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was a life long resident of Akron, and was an avid camper and fisherman and loved playing the lottery. Zook was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Selma Zook; son, David L. Jarvis; and mother-in-law, Lucy Beitel. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Cathy; daughter, Shannon (Jimmy) Stratos; sons, Robert D. (Sherry) Zook, Jr., Brian C. (Tanja) Zook, Anthony J. (Susan) Jarvis, Michael J. Jarvis, Daniel H. (Tamara) Jarvis, Donald L. (Annette) Tuck, Jr. and Ron D. Tuck; sisters, Mary Lou (Al) Ratliff, Phyllis "Toots" Case, Dorothy L. Olds, Vera V. (Bob) Berger and Betty A. (John) Berger; brothers, Mick (Beverly) Zook and Chuck (Dottie) Zook; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and his four legged daughters, Lucy and Selma. Calling hours will be Monday, October 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ruth Ann Edwards officiating. Interment to follow at Lockwood Cemetery.
