Robert E. Fausnaught
Robert E. Fausnaught, 89, passed away quietly on September 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Robert participated in the first Soap Box Derby on Tallmadge Hill. He was a environmentalist long before environmentalism was cool. Robert taught his family to appreciate the beauty of nature. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeanette; children, Robert A. Fausnaught and Connie Azar; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial gathering will take place Wednesday, October 5, from 6 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
