Robert E. "Bob" Szakal
Robert E. "Bob" Szakal, 74, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. He was born June 12, 1939 in Akron, Ohio to the late Paul and Lydia (Childers) Szakal. Bob worked as a machinist by trade. His passion was flying and providing flight lessons to others.
Bob is survived by his sister Betty Wenzel, sons; Daniel (Pam), Robert, Timothy and John (Angela) Szakal, grandchildren; Christy, Kayla, TJ, Dominic, Tawni and Marissa, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Gloria Jean Szakal, son Mark Allen Szakal, sister Shirley Childers and uncle John "Johnny" Szakal.
Friends and family may call 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the funeral home with Dr. Richard Rasper officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
