Robert Eugene Fulks
Robert Eugene Fulks, 80, of Akron, went to be with his Lord on May 25, 2013. He was born in Chloe, West Virginia on December 6, 1932.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Lockheed Martin in 1998.
He was an active member of Springfield Church of the Brethren, a member of the Wayfarer Masonic Lodge #789, and the VFW Post 9904.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Fulks; mother, Alice Arnold; stepfather, John Arnold; and first wife, Ramona Jean Fulks.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 32 years, Marie Courie Fulks; children, Debbie (Don) Stafford, Robert Fulks, Jr., Darla (Mike) Dexter, Cindy Courie (Cindy Bates), Sam (Delores) Courie, and Mike (Vanessa) Courie; siblings, Betty Metz, Glenna (Richard) Perkins, Emogene King, Herald (Evelyn) Fulks, Nell Tiller, and Stanley (Karen) Arnold; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Lady.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 29 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Springfield Church of the Brethren, 3500 Albrecht Ave., Akron, OH 44312 with Pastor Kris Hawk and Pastor Andrew Hamilton officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Church of the Brethren.
