Robert Ferguson

Robert Ferguson, 64, of Akron, met with the Lord on February 7, 2011 at 8:45 AM. Robert was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2008 and fought a good battle with a loving God by his side. Robert was a wonderful husband and father who loved to make people laugh. He served his country for 9 years in the Navy, being discharged with honors. He drove long-distance for Yellow Freight for 27 years, and enjoyed driving late at night so he could watch the sunrise in the morning. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Loretta Ferguson. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 20 years, Thuy Ferguson; daughters, Theresa and Melissa Ferguson; sons, Mike (Rachel) Ferguson, and Joe (Tara) Ferguson; sister and her family, Patricia Gleason; grandchildren, Alyssa, Amber, Aiden, Tara, Dylan and Braylon. The family would like to send a special thanks to Hospice care, Dr. Dang, Dr. Rehmus and staff. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 11, from 10 AM to Noon at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., followed by the funeral service at Noon. Interment is at Hillside Memorial Park. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
