Robert L. Ferris, 74, of Akron, OH passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Bob was born September 8, 1946 in Cuyahoga Falls. His family later moved to Brimfield, OH. Bob graduated in 1965 from Field High School where he made many lifelong friendships.
Bob worked at BF Goodrich for many years while living in Akron for 55 years. He retired from Saint Gobain. Throughout his work history he was a devoted union member. Bob was a very caring man that would do anything for anyone, and he was known for his sense of humor and ability to make anyone smile. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the shooting range, taking drives to Amish Country, and he prided himself on his beautiful yard where he received many awards from the City of Akron.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert and JoAnn (nee Brake) Ferris; his wife, Donna; and his son, Bobby whom he never got over losing, and his family is comforted to know they are together again.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Beth (Tom) Shields, Patricia (John) Chester, and Susan (Frank) Ferris; step-children, Rob (Marci) Reed and Michelle Reed; and his brother David (Sue) Ferris. Bob had loved spending time with his 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his fur babies, Sammi and Spencer.
Private services will be held by the family, with a graveside service to follow. Pastor Dennis Shawhan will officiate.
