Robert E. Gardner
Robert E. Gardner, 79, passed away on August 20, 2008. He was born on March 8, 1929 in Akron, OH, to the late Walter and Lois Gardner. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Navy and a retired Akron Firefighter. Robert was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church where he served as a kitchen angel and a greeter. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Aggie; son Michael (Karon); granddaughter Nicole; brother Ted (Shirley); sister Judy (Bob) Huff; and special friend Tink Holman. Calling hours will be Monday, 4-8 p.m. with a Last Alarn service at 7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., Pastor Phil Hulgin officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund at Grace Baptist Church.
