Robert "Bob" Lee Gilmore Sr., 76, of Akron, passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 22, 2018. He was born on December 16, 1941 in Moundsville, West Virgina to the late William and Alta Gilmore. Bob worked at RCA Rubber for many years, and eventually retired from there. Bob enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR and wrestling on TV, and was an avid mallard duck fanatic. He enjoyed listening to gospel and country music, and loved a good cup of coffee.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Cheeri Gilmore; son-in-law, James Kicos; brother, Ray Gilmore; and his close friend, Leonard.
Bob was survived by his beloved wife, Connie Gilmore; children, Patricia Kicos , and Robert Gilmore Jr.; step-children, William Schrader, Sue Schrader, David Schrader, Helen (David) Kiser, Richard (Jennifer) Hall Jr., and Nancy Hall; sister, Dorothy Hlinka; grandchildren, Traci (Dave Plungas) Vandegrift, Amber Vandegrift, Tony Girard, Richard Hall III, Heather Manning and children, Amanda, Andrew and Austin Schrader, and Zechariah Hall; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Ratliff, Aden, Bianca, Bry'anna, Amelia, Brant, Adrian and Alisianna.
Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, on Wednesday February 28, 2018 to visit from 6pm-8pm, and again on Thursday from 1pm-2pm. A funeral ceremony will take place on Thursday March 1, 2018 at 2pm.
