Robert "Red" Gower, 90, passed away on April 24, 2018 at his home in Greenfield, Ohio. Robert was born in Blaine, West Virginia on August 11, 1927 to the late Isaac and Sarah Gower.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Bettie; second wife, Katherine "Kay"; children, Mara Isley, Katherine, Louis, Edward, and Randy Gower.
He will be deeply missed by his loving companion of 15 years, Linda Starkey; children, Robert (Donna) Gower and Kimberly (Basil) Linton; daughter-in-law, Edwina Gower; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Red retired from Preston Trucking. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, watching the Cleveland Indians and playing bingo.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Stow.
