Summit-Robert Grover Summers, 85, died Sunday March 14, 2010 at Akron City Hospital. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Caroline; his sister, Ceceila Mozelle; his sons, Patrick and Jeffrey and wife, Tricia; grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeff Summers, Maria Sciddurlo; great-grandson, Jordan Nanashe and (adopted) daughter, Terri Knotts. Robert was born on September 16, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. Robert was employed by Motor Cargo and Consolidated Freightways. Robert served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. Robert loved his weekly poker games with the boys and spending time with his dog, Wrinkles. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the wonderful nurses at Summa Hospital who cared for Robert and comforted him in his final days. A small funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation for one hour prior at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. followed by a graveside service at Northlawn Memorial Gardens located at 4441 State Rd., Peninsula, OH.
