Robert H. Zappel

Robert H. Zappel, 75, passed away on August 31, 2011. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Bob was an active member of the American Legion and VFW in Ravenna. He enjoyed playing the keyboard, the accordion, and telling jokes. Preceded in death by his true love, wife, Jeanne; brother, Carl; and granddaughter, Tori. Survivors include his son, Steve (Michelle); daughters, Jeannine (Chuck) King and Brenda Lasich; sister, Norma (Bud) Young; sister-in-law, Barbara; grandchildren, Colton, Corbin, Taryn, Jessica, and Tom; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. to Noon at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held at Noon. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
