Robert Henry "Buck" Hartman, 79, of Suffield passed away February 27, 2008. He was born June 11, 1928, the youngest son of John Howard Hartman and Erma Chapman Hartman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Ploskunak; brothers, John and Glen Hartman; and infant sister, Mary Jane Hartman. Mr. Hartman is survived by his sister, Maxine Knapp; son, Thomas Hartman; daughter, The Rev. Linda Hartman Reynolds; 3 grandchildren; Mrs. Eleanor Brooks; and long time companion, Elaine Barnes. Best known as "Buck", Robert was a graduate of Randolph High School where he was well known as an avid athlete. Later he served on the Suffield Volunteer Fire Department and as a Deacon at the Suffield United Church of Christ. Additionally, he was a 3rd Degree Mason. A long distance truck driver for many years, he was most comfortable behind the wheel of a vehicle at one with the open road. He was able to describe most mile markers between Akron and Philadelphia.
