Robert J. Martin

Robert J. Martin, 77, of Tallmadge, passed away on August 27, 2016. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 10, 1939 to the late Alvin and Mary Martin. Robert had a wonderful personality. He was a devoted Santa Claus at Chapel Hill Mall for many years. He enjoyed flea marketing. He was an avid fan of Elvis and the Cleveland Browns. In his free time, he could often be found enjoying coffee at the Donut Shop with friends, golfing and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Dave and Frank Martin. He will be deeply missed by his children, James J. (Karin) Martin Sr., Jodi A. (Dave) Queer, Jacqueline R. (Mike) Clancy, Jeffrey P. Martin, and their mother; best friend, Diane Martin; stepchildren, Vicki L. D'Adesky, Christine A. Ferguson, Michelle L. (Vinny) Serpico, Robert D. (Donna) Burgan, Jennifer A. (Doug) Little, Deborah L. DeMeo; brothers, Alvin (Geri), Patrick, Glenn (Esther) Martin; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
