Robert L. "Bob" Kisner, 88, entered into eternal rest August 17th, 2021 after a period of declining health. He was born on October 27th, 1932 in Catawba, West Virginia to Roy G. Kisner and Olive (Swisher) Kisner. Bob's hometown was Fairmont, WV where he attended Monongah East High 1946-1949. He entered the United States Army in 1949 and served with Co A, 35th Infantry Regiment in the Korean War. Bob earned the Purple Heart W/OLC, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal W/3 Bronze Camp Stars. Bob was a Stationary Steam Engineer for Mowhawk Tire and Rubber Company & the BFGoodrich Chemical Company of Akron, Ohio. Bob retired in 1994. Bob was the kindest, gentlest, caring, giving and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Bob loved his family, pets, Cleveland sports teams, history, reading and music. He loved making others laugh. Bob resided in Brimfield, Ohio the past 34 years with his wife Patty (Sands) Kisner who survives. Prior he resided in Westfield Center, Ohio with his first wife Jean (Harris) Kisner who preceded him. Preceded by his parents, sister Ellodean Kisner, brother Albert Kisner, son James Burge. Survived by his four children Doreen and Mike Johnson, Clyde Kisner and Beth Bakker, Susan Burge-Mann, and Trisha Burge-Patterson. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22 from 12-2pm and also from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. in Akron where funeral services will take place at 11am on Monday, August 23. Interment with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Veterans Association or the Justin T. Rogers Care Center in Akron, Ohio can be made in Bob's name.
