Robert L. Ashcraft

Robert L. Ashcraft, 64, went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2011, after the most courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Bob served with the US Army in Berlin and Vietnam. He was also active in the Berlin U. S. Military Veteran's Association. He was a graduate of The University of Akron and attended The Chapel, Green Campus. Bob retired from the data processing department at the City of Cuyahoga Falls after 20 years of service. He was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Ida and William Ashcraft. Survivors include his wife, Betty (nee Dillinger), of 30 years; daughters, Brenda (nee Blumenstine) (Laszlo) Csaky and Karen (nee Blumenstine) (Gregory) Goodin; grandchildren, Miranda, Victoria, Spencer, Morgan; brother, William (Rosilyn); 5 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be Friday, 3-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at East Liberty Cemetery.
