Robert Lee Jones, born December 1, 1929, departed this world July 13, 2010 to join his loved ones and many friends in Heaven. Going before him is his father, Monroe and mother, Dama Jones; brothers, Marvin (Rose), Maxin (Nina Lea), and Gerald (Mable Lea); sisters, Elsie (Hayward) Gainer, Doris (Patrick) Woods, Madaline (Bertsil) Bonner, and June (Peter) Stayshich; and infant sister, Evanelle Dama Jones. He leaves behind his wife, Adalene Booth Jones; son, Eric; daughter, Ella Toole; grandsons, Kyle (Trish), and Allen Kostra; granddaughter, Rebekka Miller; great-granddaughter, Kayla; brother-in-law, Harold (Linda) Booth; sisters-in-law, Betty Bowman, and Geraldine Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. A member of Akron Baptist Temple, where he was an usher. Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean Conflict. He was employed for 40 years at Babcock & Wilcox Co. in Barberton retiring in 1988. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the family. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, from 9 to 10 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 10 am with Rev. Mike Shaub officiating. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
