Robert L. Lowrey, 56, of Akron, passed away August 19, 2007 after a year long illness that he fought hard. He was born November 22, 1950 in Canton, Ohio. Robert enjoyed grandchildren, motorcycles and gambling at Mountaineer. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lowrey; brother, Rudy Lowrey; nephew, Stephen Lowrey. Robert is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Newberry) Lowrey; mother, Marie Lowrey; daughter, Jeana Malcolm; son, Robert L., Jr. (Regina); step-children, Charity Smith (John), Michael Shane (Brenda), Carl Knafel; grandchildren, Alyssa, David, Kristopher, Aliya, Brandon, Alicia, Cory, Cody, Ashley and Courtney; brother, Dave Lowrey (Carol); sisters, Bonnie Berisko (Ken), Linda Sloan (Bill), Marlene Horner (Bill). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
