Robert Milton Long, Jr., age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 6, 2021. A lifelong resident of Akron, Bob was born on October 14, 1952, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Ruth {Rogers} Long.
Bob will be dearly missed by his children, Robert III (Shawna) Long, William (Lisa) Long, Jennifer (Leaon) Martin and Timothy Long; 10 grandchildren; 5 sisters; 3 brothers; many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Panama during the Vietnam War. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and his dog, Maggie.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron on Tuesday, May 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Please plan to wear a mask and practice social distancing. There will be private military honors held for Bob's immediate family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest.
