Robert M. Simmons

Robert M. Simmons, 87, passed away on November 26, 2012. He was born in Phillipsburg, PA on August 12, 1925. Robert served with the US Navy during WWII and worked as an Iron Worker for over 30 years. During his service with the Navy, he received many commendations including the Purple Heart.
Preceded in death by his son, Wayne. Survivors include son, Robert Maxwell Simmons; daughters, Terri Brown and Ronni Simmons; several siblings; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours will be Monday, December 3, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron. Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
