Robert Maclaren

Robert L. MacLaren, age 67, of Akron, OH passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Born on January 28, 1945 in Akron, he was the son of the late Alfred MacLaren and Ethel (Harris) MacLaren.
He married Polly J. Ewbank on June 6, 1978 in Akron, OH. Born and raised in Sawyerwood, he was a lifelong resident of Springfield Township. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1964 and was known as an accomplished athlete. After earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Akron, Robert was a teacher and coach for the Springfield Local School District for 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his Brothers, Thomas MacLaren and Jerry MacLaren. Survivors include his Wife, Polly MacLaren of Akron, OH; Son, Matthew (Jackie) MacLaren; Son, Scott (Tara) MacLaren; Granddaughter, Lucy; and Sister, Deanna Barnes.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Friends may call prior to the service 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. Memorial contributions requested to Springfield High School Golf Team, Attn: Athletics Dept., 2966 Sanitarium Rd., Akron, OH 44312.
