Robert H. Marks
Robert H. Marks, 76, passed away on July 17, 2006, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. His courage and strong will was an inspiration to us all. Born November 1, 1929 in Akron to the late Robert and Etta Marks. He had served with the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post #0126-Jenson Beach. He enjoyed playing shuffleboard with his brother; they were a team that was rarely defeated in many tournaments over numerous years. Robert was a man who loved his family and instilled the importance of education, love, honor and pride. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Brett and Jim Marks. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Flossie, of Danville; sons Steve (Shannon) Marks, of Mogadore and Jack (Jennifer) Marks, of Akron; brother Larry (Rose) Marks, of Howard, OH; grandchildren Stephen, Cara, Robert, and Crista Marks. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Peace Cemetery, Akron.
