Robert C. Martz, "Bob," of Tallmadge Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020 from dementia.
Bob was a journeyman electrician with the Local 306 IBEW for 60 years. During this time he proudly worked for Rogers Electric on the BP Pipeline Project in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.
In 1986 he went to work for ABS/Loral, previously Goodyear Aerospace where he was a member of the Local 856 UAW and retired from there in 2000.
After retiring he moved to Lake Worth, Florida that same year and working as a property manager for 4 years. He then returned to Uniontown Ohio, finally settling in Tallmadge where he became an electrical inspector for Hartville.
He was a Northampton Township Youth Baseball Coach, member of the Indian Guides with his sons, a Booster Club Member of Woodridge High School, and never missed a game or performance by his kids.
Bob was a man of integrity, decency and honor. He loved his family dearly, his country and was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians. He was loved and admired by many for his good nature, witty humor, knowledge and strength.
In addition to his parents Olive and Lloyd, he was predeceased by his sons Raymond and Ronald. He is survived by his wife and his tireless caregiver Toni {Ruggieri} Martz of 63 years; his sons Bob (Susan) and Michael; his daughter Dawn (Norm); 4 grandchildren Patrick (Jennifer), Natalie, Lauren and Nicholas; brother Bill (Peggy); sister Mary (Tom) Zeller; sisters-in-law Victoria (Ron) Drushal and Marie (Eric) Christiansen; brother-in-law Tom King and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank his physical therapist Maria, his home hospice care team Amanda, Megan, Eric and Susie at Crossroads Hospice Care, and give special thanks to Dr. Sean Wilson.
The family will have a Celebration of Life in the spring.
