Robert A. McMeeken, "Bob", age 76 of Akron, Ohio, died on November 15, 2021.
He was born on November 30, 1944 in Greenville, Michigan, the son of the late Ernest Alonzo and Florence (nee Peck) McMeeken.
Bob was an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War, holding the rank of Sergeant.
He was an over the road truck driver for many years and then the last 20 years became a CDL instructor in the trucking industry. He loved his vintage cars, especially his 1962 Impala SS and his best friend, Don Edwards, whom he went to many car shows with.
Bob was a loving family man, especially to his wife, the former Suzanne C. Lupa, whom he married on December 31, 2006; his children, Kimberly (Anthony) Jansen, Jeff (Ann) McMeeken and Chad McMeeken; and his grandchildren, Heather, Ava, Luke, Chase and Ella. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Dorris (nee Weinert) Lupa.
Other than his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Raymond Lupa; and his siblings, Ernest McMeeken, Stanley John McMeeken, Denise Powers and Lawrence McMeeken.
Per Robert's request there will not be any calling hours or services and cremation will take place.
His cremated remains will be interred in Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Greenville, MI.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
