Robert F. Mitchell

Robert F. "Bob" Mitchell, 68, passed away on March 8, 2024. He was born on March 10, 1955 the son of the late Frederick and Virginia Mitchell. Bob graduated with the class of 1974 from Field High School. He retired after many years of dedicated service from the City of Akron with the Water Department and then with the Street Cleaning Department. Bob enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing. He was well known as a "Jack of All Trades". Bob will always be remembered as having a sense of humor, friendly, and was never happier than when he was helping friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved son Bobby Mitchell; brother Earl Curtis; and sister Alice Milhoan.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Mitchell; daughters Dana (Matt) Plambeck, and Robyn (Anthony) Farris; son Derek Mitchell; grandchildren Chyanne, Faith, Ally, Jack, and Bobby; sisters Betty McCoy and Linda Bryant; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 16th, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 2:00pm.
