Robert James (Bob) Owens died peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 76 following a battle with cancer.
He was surrounded by his wife, Priscilla, loved ones, and the support of Summa Hospice.
Bob was born on November 25, 1947, to Guy and Edna Owens in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Springfield High School, then served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He lived in the Akron area all of his life, working as a mechanic for Ohio Edison for more than 38 years before retiring in 2008.
Bob was married to Priscilla for 30 years. They loved to travel, spend time with their family and work in their flower garden.
Bob also loved to go fishing, camping and watch movies in his free time. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball in his younger days and was passionate about the Cleveland Guardians.
Bob and Priscilla had a combined eight children from their respective first marriages. Bob is survived by daughters Christine, Joann, Theresa (Phil), Susan (Shawn), Courtney (Dave), Chariti (Patrick), and son Christopher (Lisa); 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Laura, his parents and brother, Rick. He is survived by brother, Ronnie.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Summa Hospice for their generous assistance during Bob's final months.
In keeping with Bob's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
