Robert "Bob" T. Soisson Sr.

Robert "Bob" T. Soisson Sr., a respected member of Summit County, OH passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 23, 1935, in Brighton Twp., PA, Bob leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

He lovingly cared for his wife, Cheryl, with whom he shared 59 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2018. Bob is survived by his children Robert Jr. (Jen) Soisson, Rhonda (Del) Akers, Debbie Neiswander, Jeff (Mylissa) Soisson, and Andrea Drake. Bob found immense joy in his role as a father and cherished his relationships with each of his 14 grandchildren: Robert Soisson III, Clinton (Sarah) Soisson, Heather (Jason) Diegel, Chad (Mary) Akers, Ashley (Anthony) Poma, Brandi Gray, Brooke (Gino) Alacchi, Harley (Holly) Gray, Dylan (Holly) Soisson, Drew Soisson, Kourtney Dimmerling, Kristian (Emily) Stuyvesant, Phillip Stuyvesant, and Nicholas Stuyvesant. His legacy continues through his 13 great-grandchildren: Brinley, Colson, Kensington, Audrina, Leo, Luke, Camden, Chayse, Alyse, Lorenzo, Baylee, Jayden, and Domynic.

For 50 years, Bob was the proud owner and operator of R & S Drain and Excavating, where he demonstrated not only a commitment to quality work but also a deep connection to the land and community he served. His expertise and professionalism earned him a well-respected position among his peers and clients alike.

An avid tractor puller since 1973, Bob was well-known in the national circuit for his beloved machine affectionately named the "Flying Machine." His contributions to the sport were celebrated when he was inducted into the Tractor Pullers Hall of Fame in 2009, a testament to his passion and dedication. Within the world of tractor pulling, he was affectionately nicknamed "Sparky," a testament to his spirited nature and enthusiasm for the sport.

Beyond his professional and recreational pursuits, Bob was revered for his dedication to his family. He loved and took care of his loved ones, instilling values of care and devotion in all those who knew him. An affectionate pet owner, Bob found joy in the companionship of his dogs.

Bob will be remembered not just for his professional accomplishments and hobbies but, more importantly, for the love he shared with his family and friends throughout his life. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Visitation will be Monday Feb. 10th from 11 AM- 2 PM and 4PM-6PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin promptly Monday Feb. 10th at 6 PM in the funeral home.
