Robert "Bob" E. Thompson
Robert "Bob" E. Thompson passed away June 6, 2006. Robert was born in 1925 in Pittston PA where he resided until 1950 when he moved to Akron, living most of his life in Springfield Township.
Bob worked for the Akron Board of Education until his retirement. He was a huge Boston Red Sox fan and listening Cleveland Indians games. Bob also served patriotically in the Army.
He is preceded in death by his mother Jessie Miller and stepfather Nestor Miller; sister Loraine Frey; brother George Thompson and Roland Miller; stepbrother Ernie Miller. He is survived by he loving wife of 56 years Helen; sons Butch Thompson of Springfield Twp OH, JohnnieThompson of Ft Myers FL, Daniel (Jackie) Thompson of Tallmadge OH; brother Mervin (Mary) Miller and Stepbrother Harold Miller; grandchildren Christopher (Amy), Daniel Jr, Johnnie Jr, Monica, Jordan step grandsons Nick and Mike and special friend grand daughter Alexandra Thompson; and great granddaughter Mandie Thompson; newphew Barry, neices Sandy and Maryann Thompson and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Road, on Tuesday June 12 at 12:00 P.M. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment at the Tallmadge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make all donations to the family in Bobs name. Online condolences can be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.
