Robert U. Ashelman, 82, passed away August 19, 2005. Robert was born February 14, 1923 to the late Frank and Mary Ashelman. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and retired from Karder Machine after 35 years of service. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen. He is survived by his children, Mary (Cloyd) Wiggins, Robert (Cheryl) Ashelman, Jr., and Sharon (Robert) Cue; sisters, Maple Markulis and Corinne Brown; brother, Frank Ashelman, Jr.; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday at 12 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, 44333.
