Robert "Bob" Walchalk, age 65 passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 10, 1957, to Edward and Loretta (nee Grosso) Walchalk.
Bob is survived by his parents; his wife and best friend Peggy Walchalk (nee James); sons Cory (Katelyn) Walchalk, Drew (Fiancé Sarah Pruett) Walchalk; brother David (Mary) Walchalk, and sister Denise (Chris) Rinehart; loving and caring in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews who he cherished, as well as a host of other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Kimberly Mikulin.
Bob graduated from St. Vincent St. Mary High School 76' where he excelled in the football program winning two Northern Ohio League championships, named lineman of the week in his senior year, and given the nickname 'Wally'. He later earned a BA from Mount Union College, playing for the purple Raiders football team and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
After graduating from college, Bob developed a successful career in sales and customer service. He was a loving father and ever so proud of his sons and the life he built. He enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family and loved ones.
Bob was a walking almanac when it came to sports and was a devoted fan and supporter of our Cleveland and Ohio sports teams. He never met a stranger. With his positive energy and kindness, he could strike up a conversation with anyone, especially if you were wearing sports apparel. Bob was a man of faith and was a member of Nativity of The Lord Jesus Christ Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
We will miss him terribly, yet we are comforted in knowing Bob is in heaven conversing with other angels and will have the best seat in the house when the Browns go to the Super Bowl.
