Robert Wheeler "Bob"

His life's journey completed, Robert Wheeler was called home to be with our Loving Heavenly Father on April 15, 2011. Born in 1933 and a lifetime resident of Akron, Bob was a graduate of West High School, and later served in Korea as a member of the U. S. Army. He worked at Baumgardner Burial Vault Co., Lawson Milk Co. and then Schwebel Baking Co. until retiring in 1998. Bob leaves behind, Ellen, his devoted wife of 49 years, along with daughter Karen Cecil, and grandchildren Zachary, Trey, Racheal and Erin Cecil. Preceded in death by his father and mother Mormon and Bessie Wheeler. Bob was the youngest of eleven children of which he is survived by his sister Ruth Perich and brother Charles Wheeler, many nieces, nephews and friends as well as his pets that kept him greatly entertained before and during his illness, Bandit, SuzeLuLu, Patches and Amber. Visitation will be Friday from 4-6 followed by a 6:00 p.m. memorial service with Rev. Barry French officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Military honors will be provided by Mogadore VFW 8487. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice or to the Humane Society.
