Robert Zemla, 64, of Uniontown, OH passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 22nd, 2021 after a 10 year battle with cancer.
Bob was born on August 8th, 1957 the youngest child of Michael and Katherine Zemla in Akron, OH.
In 1975, Bob met Deborah Stephens at a grocery store in Akron Ohio. They fell in love and were lifelong partners. In 1982 their twin sons Jason and Joshua were born.
Bob was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Jason's success as a medical professional and Josh's success in the IT field.
Bob was also a passionate craftsman who could be found in his garage or barn working on projects for his home and his sons. He was never daunted by a home project and found great joy in helping his loved ones and friends.
Anyone familiar with Bob knew that he was the most loving father and spouse a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, Jason (Becky) Zemla and Josh Zemla; grandchildren, Hunter, Colton, and Riley; three siblings, Rosemary Murphy, Michael Zemla, and Kathy Filipowicz; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Kevin Lowe, Dr. Robert Netzley, Dr. Anthony Visioni, Dr. Laurie B. Matt-Amaral, and Dr. Steven Holsenback. And also a special thank you to the Bath Cancer Treatment Center at Cleveland Clinic.
His family and friends will miss him more than words can say. Visitation from 5-7pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. Memorial services will begin at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Bob's memory.
