Robert Allen Zimmerman
October 14, 1936 — November 25, 2023
Robert Zimmerman passed away on November 25, 2023 at the age of 87.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncy and Leona Zimmerman; loving wife, Roberta; sisters, Doris (Sam) Warnick and Donna Zimmerman.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbi (Eric) Hartline and Kathie (Jack) Davis; grandchildren, Shannon (Blaine) Maze, Cory (Kate) Hartline and Kristen (Evan) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Tatum Maze and Jett Johnson.
Robert retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 42 years of service. He was a founding member of The National Packard Museum in Warren where many items from his private collection are on display. He was a member of the International Packard Club, The Canton Antique Auto club and several others. He proudly drove his 1954 Packard Patrician to these meets. These were always a family affair with his wife and daughters going along. On Monday night in the summer he could be found at the cruise-in on Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH) on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 1-3pm. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The National Packard Museum Memorial Fund, 1899 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44483.
