Roberta Lee Smith

Roberta Lee Smith, 82, lost her battle after a courageous fight with cancer on October 8, 2018. She was a 1954 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. Roberta retired after 24 years of service as an LPN at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital working in 2West. She was the matriarch of the family hosting countless holiday events. Her outgoing personality and kindness of heart made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She showed unconditional love to her five sons. Roberta was an avid bowler and enjoyed taking trips to casinos with family.

Roberta was preceded in death by her ex-husband of 25 years, James C. Smith, and parents, Robert Owen and Lucille Mason. She is survived by her sons, Greg (Shari), Robert A. (Kathy), Dan, Jeff (Lori), Gary (Susan); step-grandchildren, Lexi, Carly, Jacob; grandchildren, Amanda, Josh, Nicole, Brittany, Chris, Kayla, Hunter; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Wayne, Landon, Liam; sisters, Linda (Terry) White, Barb (Jim) Pigott; several nieces and nephews; and lifetime friend, JoAnne Hougerhide.

Visitation will be held from 4-6pm on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service 10:30am Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge. Interment at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Western Reserve Hospital for the excellent care she received.
