Rochelle D. McGilvrey
Rochelle D. McGilvrey, 55 of Ravenna, passed away January 24, 2006 at Robinson Memorial Hospital following a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 23, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Dr. Morris & Blossom (Keller) Solomon. Rochelle taught in the Cleveland School District for 30 years. In her free time, she was a champion bridge player; a rescuer of cats; and she traveled quite heavily in recent years seeing many parts of the world. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, John McGilvrey and former husband, Sam Scaffidi. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Jo Katz of Walnut Creek CA; brother-in-law, Walter McGilvrey of Littleton CO; niece, Charlotte Katz; nephew, Daniel Katz; aunt and uncle, Sue & Ken Schlessel; special friend, Cindy Kunicki. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to Robinson Visiting Nurse & Hospice, 6847 N. Chestnut St., P.O.
