Rodger D. Getrost, age 58 of Barberton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 19, 2021. He was born in Canton on September 12, 1962 to the late Harvey and Mary {Evans} Getrost Moody.
In addition to his parents, Rodger was preceded in death by his brother Robin, and both sets of grandparents.
Rodger will be dearly missed by his loving wife Kay; beloved daughter Jennifer; sisters Tami Getrost and Tina (Frank) Belknap; and all of Kay's family.
Rodger was a 1981 graduate of Louisville High School, and married his sweetheart Kay in 1984. He worked for McDonald's as store maintenance for nearly 13 years, where he made many dear friends. Rodger loved to be outdoors, especially fishing and riding motorcycles.
Per Rodger's wishes, cremation has taken place. All are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 on Friday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the 12:00 noon memorial service. To leave a message for Rodger's family, please scroll below.
