Rod W. Nemchev
Rodney (Hot Rod) Nemchev, 56, passed away October 18, 2008 after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio and worked at the Akron City Hospital Maintenance Dept. for 36 years. Rod was a caring husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all. He was an avid sports enthusiast since his early days in Little League. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Thelma Nemchev. Rod leaves his wife of 29 years, Annette; son, Martin (Tammy); daughter, Angela; grandson, Carson; sisters, Marcia (Mike) and Vickie (Dale); brothers, Dennis, Jeff and Brian; and many nieces and nephews. Also grieving our loss are many close friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton St., Akron with Fr. Mike Williamson presiding. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
