Roger Caplinger, 70, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 10, 2016. Born in Akron, Ohio on April 27, 1945 to Marvin and Margaret (Cobb) Caplinger.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Akron U. His favorite job was working for J. Parker and Sons as a truck driver. He devoted his life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and his life verse was Acts 1:8.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Roseann; daughter, Lisa (Joe) Waldeck of Las Vegas; son, David (Carolyn) of Brimfield; stepchildren, Rene (Mark) Golden and Bill McGaffick of Akron; grandchildren, Nick, Jesse, Joli, Tyler, Paige, Joey, Hannah, and Andrea; brothers, Dennis (Susy) of California, Larry of Utah; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Bath Creek Estates as well as Harbor Light Hospice Services for the compassionate care Roger received.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Dennis Caplinger officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
