Roger Dardenne, 87, passed away August 16, 2020. Born to the late Leopold and Ruth Dardenne, Roger was predeceased by great grandson Asher.
Roger passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep, following several years of declining health. Roger leaves behind Tracy, beloved wife of 30 years.
A soft voice, a kind and gentle heart, and a caring and considerate nature were Roger's hallmarks. A veteran of the US Air Force, Roger served in Japan during the Korean War. Returning home following his years of service, Roger was a custom home builder, ending his career as a general contractor of commercial and industrial buildings. Roger was highly regarded in the Akron area's community of faith, and his most gratifying work remained the building and remodeling of many churches.
While his years in business spanned many decades and great accomplishments, his work was always secondary to his love of family. He also leaves his four loving children to mourn his passing, Teri Naehring, Pauline Hasselschwert, Roger (Karen) Dardenne and Gail (Chris) Cole, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A loving patriarch will be greatly missed by all who were blessed enough to call him Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Great-papa, Brother-in-law and Uncle.
Arrangements for a private family memorial are being handled by Newcomer. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The American Heart Association, as their work prolonged Roger's life and made his last days more comfortable. Final resting place will be the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
