Roger Dale Lyons
Roger Dale Lyons, 61, of Ravenna, passed away August 28, 2008 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He was born August 14, 1947 in Clay, West Virginia to the late Fairl & Thelma (Douglas) Lyons. Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He later became an independent truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Glenn and Mike Lyons. He is survived by his wife Sherry; children Lonnie Lyons and Lori Lyons of Wadsworth; Roger Lyons, Jr. of Akron; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Maker, Karen Lyons,Patricia Lyons of PA, Kim Romans (Raye) of Rittman, Norma Uber (Shaun) of PA; brothers, Jerry Lyons (Debbie) of Barberton, Calvin Lyons (Pam) of Rittman, Larry Lyons of Akron, Bub Lyons, John Lyons of PA ; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
