Roger S. Taylor

Roger S. Taylor, 72, received his heavenly wings from the Lord on August 11, 2024 at the age of 72 years old after a long illness.

He was born on July 4, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to his beloved late mother Irene Taylor and his late father James C. Davis.

Roger graduated from Buchtel High School. He worked for the Broadview Developmental Center for 30 years until the center closed. Roger's health began to fail in 2016, he was a resident of Bath Manor Special Care Center. He passed away peacefully at the care of Summa Health Palliative/Hospice Care - Akron Campus.

Roger was very humble and kind, he never complained about anything, he loved his family and friends (especially the love of his life, wife Isabella). He enjoyed fishing, food, good music and Cadillac Cars.

Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife Isabella Travis; parents Irene Taylor and James C. Davis; daughter DeDreayl R. King; stepsons Anthony Travis, and Melvin Travis; brothers Ronnie Lacewell, Rickey Taylor and Lechaun Thomas.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his step-mother Peggy E. Davis; sons Rodney Cherry, Elliott Cherry, Antwane Fite, Steven Fite and stepdaughter Lovely Davis; sisters Helen Davis-Duboise (David Smoot), and Stacy Davis; brother James C. Davis Jr.; special cousin Pastor Jaland Finney; and a host of other family and special friends.
