Ronald P. Aungst

Ronald Paul Aungst, of Tallmadge, Ohio, passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 78. He was raised in Medina, Ohio; He graduated from Buckeye High School class of '63 and earned his higher education at Cleveland University. Ronald proudly served in the Army in the Vietnam War. He went on to teach at UEI and retired from the Akron Board of Education as an audio-visual technician. As an intellectual with a love for learning, Ron had a passion for reading, trains, and astronomy.

Ronald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Aungst, mother Marian Aungst, father-in-law William Ferrell, sister Barb Dull, and brother-in-law Robert Ferrell. Ronald is survived by his wife Rose Aungst of 53 years, son William (Kathleen) Aungst, mother-in-law Herta Ferrell, brother-in-laws William (Joetta) Ferrell and Frank Dull, sister-in-law Margaret Ferrell, grandchildren Connor (Breanna) Aungst and Macailia (Christian) Nelson, great-grandchildren Weston and Blake Nelson, as well as treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins.

According to Ron's wishes, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 2 p.m. at New Horizon Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd, Akron, OH 44305.
