Ronald K. Kightlinger, 75, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on April 8, 2022. He was born on October 10, 1946 in Franklin, Pennsylvania to the late Blair and Esther Kightlinger. He graduated from Stow High School in 1964, and went on to serve in the US Navy and Reserves for six years. He worked as a machinist for 48 years.
Ron loved to fish, play golf, and bowl. He even scored multiple holes in one and bowled a 300 game. He cherished spending time with his golf buddies and belonged to the Akro Club Golf Club.
Everyone who knew Ron knew of his great and quirky sense of humor. Above all, Ron was a devoted family man who truly cared for those closest to him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Mary Kightlinger (nee Allison); children, Kathy Kightlinger, Teresa (Don) Kapper, and Ken (Stephanie) Kightlinger; siblings, Carol (Larry) Swab, Roxanne Kennell, and Jerry (Michelle) Kightlinger; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Sue Hovey; and brother-in-law, Bill Kennell.
Visitation will take place on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 1pm until 3pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A memorial service will take place at 3pm. The family would like to encourage visitors to share their stories and memories of Ron during that time.
