Ronald A. Pritt, 56, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2023. Born in Akron, Ohio on December 5, 1966, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Martha "Dolly" Pritt. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1985 where he was active in the band and intramural sports.
As a child and throughout his early adult life, Ron would often be found working with his father on construction jobs. Ron was never one to shy away from a hard days work, or any task that was before him.
Ron had a passion for music that started with his love for county music classics and Elvis Presley. He started playing the drums when he was 10 and spent countless hours playing and practicing throughout his life. He had many players who influenced his style, but none more than Jeff Porcaro.
Ron's love of racing led him to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Akron where he graduated in 1990. He was offered a co-op position at Crane Naval Weapons Development Institute his senior year of college, which then lead to his employment there, and residence in Indiana, for several years.
Ron was a Mopar muscle car enthusiast, and owned several during his life. His first true love was a 1969 Charger that he named Rebecca. His pursuit of perfection on her restoration was never ending.
Ron always felt like a misplaced southerner, and eventually found a home away from home in Nashville, Tennessee. He was happy there, being in the land of NASCAR and music, and was able to enjoy the things he loved. He had many friends in Nashville and developed a second family with the band Bonepony. Ron spent several years as a driver, sound engineer, drum tech, stage hand, merchandise salesman, and loyal friend to the band.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother Dolly, and brother Ken.
